NIAGs will hold a unique position supporting Hanga-Aro-Rau operations and guiding priorities. They will be sector-specific and validate workstreams and test the thinking of new concepts and initiatives for their respective industries.
There will be eight NIAGs in total covering the following sectors:
- General Manufacturing
- Engineering
- Food and Beverage (including bakery, butchery, and meat processing)
- Commercial Road Transport
- Extractives and Energy
- Ports
- Automotive Engineering
- Marine.
Group members would be expected to provide a specialist perspective of their sector’s current and future workforce needs and help influence how Hanga-Aro-Rau better supports their sector.
Draft Terms of Reference have been developed which cover all NIAGs. Here you will learn more about the purpose and make-up of the groups, their roles and responsibilities, and how they align with our duties, as outlined in our Order in Council. In addition, those who successfully secure a NIAG role will be asked to commit to a code of conduct to ensure professional and cordial relations within the groups.
