Mary Jensen - General Manager
Mary (BBS AcED) has a background in regional development, business, education and communications. She is a founding member of the Industry Stakeholder Group for Hanga-Aro-Rau Workforce Development Council, for the manufacturing, engineering and logistics sector. For WECA Members, this gives Waikato industries and employers greater leadership and influence across vocational education.

Mary’s leadership of WECA and Smart Waikato Trust has seen the launch and implementation of a number of impactful initiatives across the Waikato and other regions that bring together employers and young people, fostering employment and enterprise.
Sally Birch - Manager
Sally is a relationships management specialist with experience in business development, event management and media, and has been involved with WECA since 2012. She is passionate about “lifting the lid” on Careers in Engineering, and working with employers to more effectively pipeline people into this lucrative sector in Waikato.

Maddie Walker - Events
Maddie, of Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Maniapoto descent, joined WECA in 2020 with a background in events co-ordination. Maddie is studying her Bachelor of Business at the University of Waikato and is a valued “all-rounder” on the WECA team. She co-ordinates WECA’s presence at Careers Expos and assists with communications, tech support and everything in between.
