Thank you to the WECA Employers who opened their doors to the Engineers of the Future, and their teachers, for Engineering in Action 2023 on Tuesday May 16th.

As the first EIA since 2021, we were aiming to attract a good number of students and we did it! We had 240 young people taking part. EIA23 is a great opportunity for keen Years 12 and Year 13 students to learn about careers in our vibrant engineering sector – a partnership between Wintec – Te Pūkenga and WECA. Students toured Wintec’s engineering facilities, visited two local engineering firms, and learned more about the different specialisations within engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, and more).

Special thanks to WECA members who opened their doors: Convex, Hunter Filling Systems, WEL Networks, Stainless Design, APL Manufacturing, NZSkydive, Longveld, Precision Machining, Stafford Engineering, PACT Group, CAL Isuzu.
